In March this year a band from the USA called 'Madina Lake' came to our house and played an acoustic set for us in aid of the 'keep a breast' charity. (Link to photo:

The twins, Nathan (singer) and Matthew Leone (bass) having been semi-professional soccer players before forming a band.
A few weeks ago we were horrified to learn that Matthew (on the far left of the photo I've sent) had been badly beaten in his home town of Chicago. Walking from his brother’s apartment, he had gone to the aid of a woman being beaten by her husband. Having calmed the situation he turned away but the man attacked him from behind. Both of them then left Matthew unconscious with multiple injuries so severe he had to have a third of his skull removed to relieve the swelling to his brain. On top of this, Matthews medical insurance ran out when he was on tour in the UK.
There are many benefit gigs and events taking place for Matthew including one by the Smashing Pumpkins and an online international auction organised by his friends. Some of the people to donate so far to the auction are; Madonna, Lady Gaga, EA-Games, Warner Brothers, Chelsea FC, Metallica and Ozzy Osbourne to name but a few.
Matthew did a very brave and selfless thing, and as I am an Aston Villa fan I am hoping you would consider donating something to the auction for Matthew and maybe help raise awareness through your match day programme.
