Confused ??

Is it me or is anyone else confused ? Ive always been a fan of Luke Young and Curtis Davies yet MON seems to be prepared to let them both go . We have a centre back playing at right back and no recognised left back ...with Bouma gone and Shorey not on the radar. We struggled the season before last because Laursen was injured and we really had no replacements . Now we seem to be dismantling the defence with no new names on the horizon and the season just round the corner. Obviously MON knows whats going on but I cant work it out ...do we have a load of good youngsters about to step up ?

we have a 21 year old American RB who looks ready to face the prem , & we also have Cuellar who played there most of last season when Villa had one of the best defensive records in the Prem

As for CB`s We have 3 Senior CB`s without Davies and in addition there are 2 juniors who can play there ,one of which can also play LB
so perhaps we are not as badly of as you think

Cuellar is a good centre back..but he's got the worst distribution ive seen in a while. Lichaj looks good... I trust MON ...but he plays his cards way too close to his chest for my liking....

Erm, is Warnock not a LB? plus a young CB who can play there.

We have Beye, Cuellar and Lichaj for the RB position.

Still, we do need one more of each if we let Luke go. I cannot get my head round that. Maybe a RB stole MONs lunch money when he was a keid or something.

Whilst you make some good point you havent quite thought it out.

We have Beye, Lichaj and Cuellar who can all play right back.

We have Collins, Cuellar, Dunne, Baker and Clarke who can play centre half.

we have Warnock, and Baker who can play left back.

Also the system can be changed to suit.

Not that bad after all

Also I have found that players usually get a season to get into things so maybe Beye is coming into his own now?

Yes we have surplus defenders and Davies, although good enough, would not be a starter and would bring the most money in so it makes sense

I totally forgot about Warnock...must have had a senior moment...not sure Baker and Clark are ready for the first team yet and I'm not convinced with Cuellar at right back...he's not quick enough and his passing is awful....point taken tho about defenders,,,

we all have them I forgot or rather was not thinking of Baker when I mentioned the youngster as we also have the the Socceroo who replaced Shorey in the match against Walsall -- Lowry

No think you might be thinking of O`Halloran who`s gone to Coventry

As for Davieshe will not be a class CB unless he can improove ,now that he`s back from injury , and for that he probably needs regular footie & he`s not going to get that @ Villa as he apears to be a liability . Against Walsall Cuellar kept having to cover up for his errors & Freidal roasted him @ one point

certain papers said luke had not traveled but pics on the OS clearly show him @ Villa`s Portugeese training camp
